Draft Game Plan 2028

Live, work, and play sustainably

The results are in. Sunnyvale’s community-wide greenhouse gas emissions went up in 2021. As expected, we saw some bounce back in emissions from COVID-19 restrictions lifting. The good news is we have a new set of solutions!

About the Draft Game Plan 2028

Draft Game Plan 2028 is the list of actions Sunnyvale proposes to take from 2024 to 2028. These will keep Sunnyvale on track to reduce our emissions. The Draft Game Plan 2028 is now available for public comment.

Not only does Sunnyvale have a new five-year plan, but we are updating our carbon neutrality target. Instead of reducing emissions 80% by 2050, Sunnyvale is proposing to reduce emissions 85% by 2045. This means lowering emissions more in a shorter timeframe. Draft Game Plan 2028 will help us get there!

Let's work together to achieve this exciting vision!

Now, we are looking for your input on our next work plan to keep Sunnyvale on track. Game Plan 2028 lays out the Next Moves for Sunnyvale to take between 2024 and 2028. This Game Plan will help ensure Sunnyvale can reach our 2030 target of 56% below 1990 levels by 2030. It's an ambitious goal and we need your help to ensure Game Plan 2028 is a slam dunk!
